Macom's new SEM600 stove reaches 400°C in just 5 seconds

Macom is today announcing the launch of its well-established electric salamander, now with 5 kW of power. This evolution meets the demands of customers who need increasingly efficient and economical equipment.

The salamander is a useful piece of equipment for finishing and grating by radiating heat. It quickly, efficiently and evenly browns pasta, prepared dishes and meat. Versatile, it can also be used to keep ready-made dishes warm.

Efficiency, intelligence and electricity savings

The 5 kW of power added to the glass-ceramic heating plate technology is what sets the equipment apart, making it reach 400°C in just 5 seconds, compared to 9 seconds for the previous version. This allows it to be used at any time without the need for preheating.

The PDS (plate detection system) technology recognizes when a plate is placed on its base, turning the equipment on and off automatically when it is removed. This device eliminates the need for the equipment to be on all the time, as is the case with most of the equipment available on the Brazilian market, allowing electricity savings of up to 35%, without continuously generating heat, and also saving on the use of air conditioning.

Practicality

The Macom SEM600 electric stove has a tilting head that is easy to adjust and slides lightly by means of a counterweight and bearing system.
